Memorial Day Weekend

We had a fun weekend, while keeping our hero's in mind, and celebrating in honor of them. We went to our favorite festival in Old Colorado City called "Territory Days." We also had a blast taking a family bike ride with our newly fixed up bikes and new bike trailer for the boys, thanks to my handy man Phil! :) Thank you Jesus for giving me my beautiful family and the moments we share together.

Good Ol' Beloit Kansas

Oh how we love Beloit. We took another trip out there the end of April when Phil had a break and we were looking for something to do. It's always such a joy to be around Andrew, Maria, and kids. John Phillip had the time of his life just being around Nicholas and Christiana, playing and running around with them. Phil always has a great country man experience. This time, fishing brought that happiness. I just love being around my sister, Maria, and enjoying family time. She put on one incredible Pure Fashion show that I got to watch. She's my inspiration! ;) We were so happy to see Uncle William too, but sad we missed Bridget and Margaret. Here's a couple pictures, mostly Maria took.

Our Dear John Phillip

     John is always keeping us entertained....and on our toes! He's one cute 16 month old. Lucky him, because it often keeps us from correcting him too much. We find ourselves trying not to laugh when meaning to give him a stern look. He is a ball of energy, full of the best giggles, killer dance moves, and a mouth full of the funniest blabber talk. John loves a good adventure like collecting cool rocks, tasting them, maybe even giving baby Dominic one to try. He still loves to brush his teeth (and Dominic's gums). In fact, he loves doing anything with Dominic, especially making him laugh. And he loves to talk on one of his 6 cell phones. He loves to go to the park, play in his baby pool, go on walks, take baths, befriend kids at Mass, garden with Mom, wrestle with Dad, climb anything, and throw anything. He is finally saying a couple things...or trying really hard to. He loves to make animal sounds and not only says "woof woof" now but "ba ba" and "moo moo" too.

Dominic Joseph- 3 and 4 month pics

We call Dominic many things, usually never by his real name. Among the titles are "Dough boy", "little biscuit", "Snickers", "Mr. Pamuk", "Agustus Gloop", "Toodles", "Cinnamon Roll", "Lugsworth", etc.

Poor thing. But it's only to try and put his amazingness into words. His double chin is still our fav and still very much present. I cannot believe he's already 4 and 1/2 month old! He's been rolling over and scooting around since 3 months, always alert and squirmy trying to watch a keep up with John Phillip. His favorite pastime is watching and having John make him giggle. We also call him our little song bird because he has such a sweet voice and angelic coo. He weighs 15 pounds. We're going to try to put on a little more before he comes to visit the family in his bathing suit/speedo so he's over-the-top luscious and delectable.

Olympic Trials 2012

We all know Phil deserved the top spot on the Olympic wrestling team for 66kg, but God simply didn't have it in the plan for Phil to go to the London 2012 Olympics. Yet, he was still victorious in the way he wrestled like a champion. Like I told him, just because the world doesn't know you are the best, does not mean you aren't the best. We all know he is. Wrestling is just such a toss up to me somtimes, depending on which side of the bracket you're on and of course it's up to the calls sometimes (I still have bitterness towards the ref's call of course). This is not the end of the road and Phil might continue to embark on this journey with the fire and passion for it still in his heart. God has a much better plan whatever that may be. All I know is He's so anxious to have Phil continue to leave his mark on many people's lives with whatever steps he takes in the future.

All of us Simpson's and friends were so thrilled to be there and proud to watch our hero on the mat, especially John and Dominic. We had a great time being there celebrating Phillip.

Delayed Easter Recap

We had such a fun and glorious Easter this year! With a visit from Bridget and William, laughter was had by all. We took them around Colorado Springs, enjoying the beautiful views and eating good food. Highlights: Settler's of Catan game, Dressing up and squeezing the babes on Easter, Picnic lunch at Pikes Peek. John Phillip always has the best time with cousin Margaret. Watching them interact and become best cousins was another highlight.
