What a perfect Lenten quote one of the girls in my bible/book study found:
"The measure and criterion of obedience to God is suffering. When your whole being shouts: 'God, you can't ask this of me!' and you realize He wants just 'that' ... and you are faced with His will as if it were a cross on which you must stretch yourself, then you discover how serious and real and daily this obedience is... Truly, to obey is to die."
What is it in our lives that we haven't truly given over to God? Maybe the graces of Lent will help us surrender that one item!
